4-H is an organization that teaches today's youth leadership, citizenship, and life skills through fun and interesting activities. Paulina has a history of excellence when it comes to the 4-H program. This club is sponsored by Mrs. Jennifer St. Pierre and Ms. Lori Louque. Members are expected to meet the requirements listed below. Any 4-H'er that would like to attend the fun end-of-the-year 4-H activities, such as Achievement Day and 4-H Camp, must complete the following.
-
Join by completing the beige enrollment card in your “Welcome to PES” folder. Please include a $15.00 enrollment fee, which covers the $5.00 entry fee to St. James 4-H Foundation and the $10.00 club t-shirt. This card must be completed and returned with funds by Friday, September 22nd.
-
Members must attend at least 4 of the monthly after-school meetings. All meetings will be held in the cafeteria from 3:30 until 4:30. The meeting dates will be posted on the school’s monthly calendar and a notice of all dates will be sent home as soon as they are confirmed.
-
Members must participate in a club fund-raiser. We have not yet determined our fund-raising choice. You will be notified in advance as soon as decisions have been made.
-
Members must participate in various events and projects at PES. Leaders will keep track of all events and activities. Students with the highest participation will be asked to attend 4-H Camp over the summer.
-
Members must complete a project book (which includes hands on activities). They will be asked to bring one of their completed projects to a club meeting to be judged by the agents.
-
Members must attend a minimum of one outside activity. Outside activities include events that are run by the St. James Parish 4-H agents. Some examples include Pet Show, Livestock Show, Food Fest, Fashion Fun, and much, much more. Events will be discussed at meetings and will be listed in the monthly 4-H newsletter.
